Our Story

New to the Adelaide Hills, but not new to the hospitality industry

With over 25 years experience, Craig began working in the hotel industry at the age of 13 with his first job being employed as a ‘glassie’ and by the time he was 18 he had earnt the title of ‘Assistant Manager’. From those very early years he has made his way up the chain, working across a multitude of venues around Adelaide to becoming ‘Venue Manager’ around hotels in the South East. After all those years, owning a pub seemed nothing more than a mere dream, until 2023 when the opportunity to purchase the Oakbank Hotel presented itself. With his experience and knowledge of the industry being second to none, a very driven attitude, hands on, focused and always seeking new opportunities to give back to the community, we look forward to creating something pretty special here in Oakbank.

With his partner Hayley by his side, she brings a friendly attitude and an infectious smile. Although her experience in the hospitality industry only relates back to her teenage years as a ‘dishie’, her actual background in Real Estate (Residential & Commercial Property Management – Finance) certainly helps with all the backend side of the business along with admin, socials, bookkeeping and everything in between.

We are absolutely thrilled to be taking the reins of the Oakbank Hotel and pride ourselves on creating a memorable experience, delicious food and a venue that will keep you coming back.
